How to use the February Write the Room Math Centers:

1. Hang up the math center cards around the room
2. Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
3. They will search the room for the cards
4. When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet

February Write the Room Math Centers:

• Penguin Addition: Students will search for the cards. They will either solve the addition problem or find the missing addend. Skills: addition to 20, missing addends
• Groundhog Fractions: Students will search for the cards. They will color the correct answer on their recording sheet. Skills: equal and unequal fractions, fractions: halves, thirds, fourths
• Place Value: Students will search for the cards and find the mystery numbers. Skills: place value with expanded form
• I Know Numbers: Students will search for the cards. They will write the number and then write ten more and ten less and one more and one less. Skills: counting on, counting back, ten more and ten less
• Balancing Equations: Students will find the missing addend to balance the equations. Skills: addition to 20, missing addends, balancing equations
• Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Skills: Counting, graphing, analyzing data
