How to use the January Write the Room Math Centers:
- Hang up the math center cards around the room
- Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
- They will search the room for the cards
- When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet
January Write the Room Math Centers:
- Balancing Equations: Students will search for the cards. They will find the missing addend to balance the two equations. Skills: addition to 20, balancing equations
- Place Value Penguins: Students will search for the cards. They will add the tens and ones place together and write the two-digit number. Skills: place value with expanded form
- Snow Day Addition: Students will search for the cards and solve the addition problems. Skills: addition
- I Know Numbers: Students will search for the cards. They will write the number and then write ten more and ten less and one more and one less. Skills: number sense
- Snowman Base Ten: Students will count the base ten blocks and identify the number. Skills: place value with base ten
- Snow Globe Subtraction: Students will search for the cards. They will solve the subtraction problems. Skills: subtraction to 12, subtraction to 20
- Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Skills: Counting, graphing, analyzing data
