Are you looking for the perfect way to get your First Grade students moving and learning this March? Write the room is it! The March Write the Room Math Centers contain 6 1st grade March math centers + 4 St Patrick’s Day math centers designed to get your students up and learning with math around the room.

How to use the March Write the Room Math Centers:

1. Hang up the math center cards around the room
2. Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
3. They will search the room for the cards
4. When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet

March Write the Room Math Centers:

• Number Sense: Students will search for the cards. They will color or draw the number. Skills: expanded form, base ten
• Outer Space Equations: Students will search for the cards. They will solve and write the equation. Skills: subtraction to 20, missing addends
• Fact Families: Students will search for the cards. They will use the numbers to make a fact family. Skills: fact families
• Rainy Day Base Ten: Students will search for the cards. They will identify the number shown. Skills: base ten blocks
• Rainbow Addition: Students will search for the cards. They will draw base ten blocks to solve. Skills: adding tens, double-digit addition
• Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Includes numbers to 5 or 10. Skills: Counting, graphing

St. Patrick’s Day Write the Room Math Centers:

• Skip Counting: Students will search for the cards. They will count on by fives. Skills: counting by 5’s
• Counting on/back: Students will search for the cards. They will identify the number shown and count on or back. Skills: counting on, counting back, ten more, ten less
• Place Value: Students will search for the cards. They will count the shamrocks and coins and write an addition problem to match. Skills: place value
• Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Includes numbers to 5 or 10. Skills: Counting, graphing
