How to use the October Write the Room Math Centers:

1. Hang up the math center cards around the room
2. Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
3. They will search the room for the cards
4. When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet

October Write the Room Math Centers:

• Pumpkin Place Value: Students will search for the pumpkin cards. They will count the base ten blocks and color the number on their recording sheet. Skills: Base ten to 20 or 50
• Comparing Acorns: Students will search for the number cards. They will write both numbers on the acorns and color the acorn with the greater number. Skills: Comparing numbers to 50, comparing numbers to 100
• Firetruck Addition: Students will search for the addition cards and solve. They will write the equation on their recording sheet. Skills: Addition to 10, addition to 20
• Subtracting pumpkins: Students will search for the cards. They will solve the subtraction problem and write the equation. Skills: Subtraction to 10, subtraction to 20
• Number Bonds: Students will search for the cards. They will identify the missing number in the number bonds. Skills: Number bonds with missing addends to 12
• Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Skills: Counting, graphing, analyzing data
