How to use the September Write the Room Literacy Centers:
- Hang up the literacy center cards around the room
- Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
- They will search the room for the cards
- When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet

Differentiation made easy! Many of these 1st grade write the room literacy centers contain multiple recording sheet options to make differentiation easier.
September Write the Room Literacy Centers:
- Apple Sounds: Students will search for the picture cards and color the matching beginning sound or word family on their recording sheet.
- Flying Through Sounds: Students will search for the picture cards and color the matching vowel sound or digraph on their recording sheet.
- Apple CVC Words: Students will search for the cvc word cards and write the word.
- Real or Nonsense: Students will search for the worm cards. They will read the word and identify whether it is a real or nonsense word.
- True or False: Students will search for the rhyming word pair cards. If the rhyming words are a match, they will color a thumbs up. If they are not a match, they will color a thumbs down.
- Vocabulary: Students will search for the back to school vocabulary cards. They will trace or write the word on their recording sheet. An option with missing beginning sounds is also included.
