Today is day three of our virtual Teacher Appreciation Week celebration and you’re in for a SWEET treat! Today is full of watermelon-themed goodness including an end of the year craft and writing activity that includes both a printable and digital version.
This Year Was Sweet! End of the Year Craft and Writing Activity
With this end of the year writing activity, students will write about why this year was so sweet! You can brainstorm together things that they learned, friends that they made, and things you did together.
I know this year is ending a little differently, but you can use the digital version of this writing page as a way to talk about the positives of this school year and maybe spread some joy.
This watermelon craft is adorable and perfect for an end of the year bulletin board display!
Grab the printable version of this craft and writing activity here.
I also made a digital version of the writing page that you can use for distance learning:
Students will type onto the Google Slides activity why this year was sweet. This would be a great writing assignment for distance learning at the end of the year.
Grab this digital writing activity here.
Watermelon Directed Drawing
You know I needed a watermelon directed drawing in my life! This would be perfect to do with a watermelon unit or in addition to the end of the year craft and writing activity above, especially if you are using the digital version. You could do the directed drawing during a video lesson and then have students follow up with the writing assignment.
You can grab the directed drawing directions here.
We do a Watermelon Day every spring and I am missing it SO much this year. I’m definitely going to use this that week next year. You can read more about our Watermelon Day here.
I hope you’re having a great Teacher Appreciation week! Don’t forget to stop by again tomorrow for more free activities.
