A week full of freebies!
This blog post is going to house our week of FREE resources! Each day a new free resources will be added for you to download, so make sure that you stop by each day.
I asked in our teacher Facebook group what skills you’re working on when we get back from winter break and what would be the most helpful right now. These freebies will work on those skills so that you can hit the ground running when we get back.
Most of these free resources will be winter-themed because, hello, New Year Bash! But some will be anytime freebies that you can use throughout the year.
In fact, our very first freebie of the week is an anytime freebie!
Freebie Day 1: Number Show It Sheets
When I asked in our Facebook group, many of you said that you either were in the middle of teaching teen numbers or you were going to teach them when we got back from winter break. Either way, these free Number Show It worksheets are a fun all year long addition to your teaching resources stash!
These free number worksheets feature numbers 1-20 and they ask students to interact with the number in a variety of hands-on ways. Students will color the number, show the number on the ten frames, and color the circles that show the number.
The great thing about these free number worksheets is that you can use them in so many ways. You can have students use crayons and color, use dot markers and dab them, or use stickers and stick them.
You can print on colored paper or cardstock, laminate, and make them a reusable center! Just add magnetic chips to swipe, cubes, or any other fun manipulatives that you have in your classroom.
Don’t worry, while the deals and steals are only for this week, the freebies will never expire! You will be able to come back and grab these free resources throughout the week and beyond.
Freebie Day 2: CVC Words Stretch and Write Worksheets
These CVC Word Stretch and Write worksheets are a fun, seasonal way to practice writing CVC words. Students will say the word in the circle. Then, they will stretch and write the CVC word in the ice blocks.
There are two pages for each short vowel, so you can easily use these for your independent phonics practice or add to a literacy center.
Freebie Day 3: Snowmen Match Ups
Today’s freebie is all about the snowmen! Normally I try to make our literacy centers as low prep as possible, but these snowmen were too much fun!
For these match ups, students will build the snowman and match the hat. You can also leave the snowmen connected for an easier center option.
This winter literacy center has the option of alphabet matching, matching onset and rime, or matching CVC words to their pictures.
There is also a recording sheet and black and white option included for each center. Grab this free winter literacy center below.
Freebie Day 4: Number Order Worksheets
Number order and number sense is one of those skills we ALWAYS need more practice with! These snowman number order sheets are a simple but effective way to practice.
This set of number order worksheets includes numbers to 10, numbers to 20, numbers to 50, and numbers to 100 so there’s a little something for everyone.
They also work on numbers before and after, counting on, or counting back – all important skills in kindergarten and first grade!
Freebie Day 5: Winter Math Trees
Today’s freebie are these fun winter trees math centers! A variety of options are included to make these work for both Kindergarten and first grade.
For this winter math center, students can match ten frames for numbers to 10, numbers to 20, or addition and subtraction to 18.
Freebie Day 6: Winter Owl Match Ups
How fun are these winter owl match ups? For this free winter literacy center, students will match the ice-skating owls to their ponds by matching beginning sounds or words. Add in a fine motor component with clothespins if you wish!
This set of free winter literacy centers includes beginning sounds, CVC words, and ng and nk ending blends.
Freebie Day 7: Winter Phonics Sheets
Can you believe that we’re already at the end of our New Year Bash? No worries though! The fun is going to continue in our Facebook group next week, just to make sure that this new year starts off right!
Today’s freebie is a set of winter themed phonics worksheets. This set asks students to color the alphabet letter match, short vowel match, or digraph match.
If you’re waiting to download these freebies until you get back to school, no worries! These will be forever freebies.
