In this post: These resources are my tried and true favorite resources for socially distant Kindergarten centers during COVID.
It’s hard to believe that this time last year we really had no idea what the upcoming months would bring. The idea of socially distanced centers or virtual learning seemed crazy. If only we knew!
This past summer, after months of virtual distance learning, I began brainstorming ways we could have kindergarten centers during COVID while social distancing.
After months of remote learning and social distancing in the classroom, these resources are the ones that stand out. You can use these kindergarten center activities during COVID and beyond.
After all, what’s the point in trying something that you can never use again? These social distancing solo center ideas can be used now, but you will also want to use them for years to come!
Kindergarten Binder Centers
Kindergarten binder centers are a great solo centers option for social distancing! These binder centers are no prep – you can put them in page protectors in a binder OR just print and go!
There are hundreds of math and literacy center options included so that you can easily differentiate. Kindergarten binder centers also allow you to give your students choice during centers, even while social distancing.
What are other teachers saying about these binder centers?
“These centers have made the challenge of group work during Covid disappear. I no longer feel like I need to reinvent the wheel. My students are engaged, and they target a multitude of learning skills.” – Sydney

We keep all of the supplies and manipulatives needed for these binder centers in our math tool kits and ELA tool kits.
Digital Math and Literacy Centers
Just last year, I hated digital activities in Kindergarten. I didn’t think they were developmentally appropriate and I felt like my kids were constantly clicking to other websites or games.
But when distance learning happened, we were faced with the question, “How do we make digital centers developmentally appropriate and effective for Kindergarten?”
These Kindergarten digital centers are the answer! The digital centers are formatted for google Slides™️ Or Seesaw™️. They give our kindergarteners a digital center option that is both hands on and engaging!
I will absolutely use these digital centers for Kindergarten even beyond COVID. Students feel like they are playing a computer game, which they love! They don’t even realize that they’re doing “work.”
What are other teachers saying?
“This bundle has been a fantastic addition to my collection of digital resources! There are so many activities for literacy and math that my kids can do whether we are in school together at home. Assign an entire activity as a review, or use specific slide decks (one slide at a time) in your digital morning meeting and calendar time as review! They are visually appealing, directions are easy to follow, and the decks are all different so kids don’t get tired of seeing the same thing! AMAZING product!!!” -Jennifer

Kindergarten Boom Card Centers and Activities
I love Boom Cards for Kindergarten centers during COVID and beyond because they are fun and self-correcting. Boom Cards are an easy way to give students hands on practice during centers while collecting data.
To use Boom Cards, you will need at least a free Boom Learning account. I like to send my students a fast play link to an activity so that they don’t have to log in. However, if you want to collect student data, you will need to add student accounts.
We use Boom Cards in our classroom for digital centers, sight word lessons and practice, and even guided reading!
What are teachers saying?
“This is a perfect resource for my students. I used in class for small groups and also for the few at home learners I have. I really appreciate how affordable, engaging, and easy to use that this resource is. The concepts included were exactly what I am teaching at this time so it was very useful. Thank You!” – Jennifer

We don’t have to go all out to come up with ideas for Kindergarten centers during COVID! We also don’t need to buy a bunch of resources that we will never use again. These resources are simple, engaging, and perfect for Kindergarten centers both during COVID and after.
