More about this resource...
Kindergarten Narrative Writing Unit // Now that your students know how to tell a story using pictures, they will learn how to show their story through writing and then how to stretch that story over pages. They will learn how to write a story and stay on topic, how to stretch out that story over pages, how to stretch out words, how to make their writing the best it can be, and how to know when they are done.
What if my students are not ready to write sentences?
Although this unit focuses on writing with sentences and the end goal is to have students write a 3-page story, you will most likely have students who are not ready to write sentences. They can still write their full story using pictures. If you think they are ready, you can begin pushing them to write some words or use guided writing lines (just be careful that they do not become dependent on these). Students will be coming back to narrative writing in the Small Moment Narratives unit.
