How to use the October Write the Room Math Centers:

1. Hang up the math center cards around the room
2. Students will grab a recording sheet and a clipboard
3. They will search the room for the cards
4. When they find a card, they will color or write the answer on their recording sheet

October Write the Room Math Centers:

• Pumpkin Shapes: Students will search for the apple basket cards. They will color the matching real-life 2D shape on their recording sheet. Skills: 2D shapes
• Comparing Acorns: Students will search for the number cards. They will write both numbers on the acorns and color the acorn with the greater number. Skills: Comparing numbers to 10, comparing numbers to 20
• Firetruck Ten Frames: Students will search for the ten frame cards and count the dots. They will use the matching color to color the number on their recording sheet. Skills: Numbers to 10 number sense
• Decomposing pumpkins: Students will search for the cards. They will identify how many red and yellow dots are on each card to make the number. Skills: Decomposing and making 5 and 10
• Number Order Seeds: Students will search for the cards. They will rewrite the numbers in number order. Skills: Number order to 10
• Graph the Room: Students will search for the picture cards. They will count the amount and fill in the graph the match. Includes numbers to 5 or 10. Skills: Counting, graphing
