Using decodable books is an effective way to build strong, independent readers. Wondering if guided reading with decodable readers is right for your class? Try this free sample from my Beginning Readers Guided Reading with Decodable Readers unit!
This free sample features the decodable reader “Sam and Tam.” This is the first book included in the Beginning Readers unit. The books in this unit increase in difficulty as the unit progresses.
Decodables in this series include two version for differentiation – a version with and without pictures. For the version without pictures, students will sequence the story pictures and glue them in the text after reading.
This decodable book includes mostly words that can be decoded using the letters m, s, a, t.
