It’s officially Teacher Appreciation Week and I wanted to celebrate with a week of fun freebies! Today, I am kicking things off with butterfly activities you can use both in person and in online distance learning.
Butterfly Directed Drawing
I love directed drawings both in class and through videos while we are doing distance learning. They take little to no prep for me and don’t require my students to have anything but paper and something to draw with.
This butterfly activity would be the perfect addition to any butterfly unit!

Butterfly Life Cycle Activities
One of my favorite parts of spring is our Butterfly unit and learning about the butterfly life cycle (Which is weird because I’m deathly afraid of butterflies).
Don’t ever let a real butterfly get near me, but there’s just something about butterfly activities in the spring that makes me happy.
This butterfly life cycle sequencing page is perfect for a quick independent activity!
Grab it here.
You can also grab the digital version for online learning:
Students can click and drag the life cycle pictures to the correct spots.
This is a Google Slides activity. When you click the link it will automatically make a new copy for you.

Butterfly Life Cycle Readers
These emergent readers are perfect for your butterfly activities! This set includes two levels of readers.
They are very easy to prep too – just print double sided, fold in half, and staple!
